Conflicts over household chores lead relatives to take up arms to express their displeasure.
One grabbed a gun, another a knife.
It began Saturday in Avondale when two stepbrothers were arguing over who would be cleaning up.
Younger brother Otheo Boss grabbed a gun and shot his older stepbrother in the leg.
Boss was arrested and is now in the Jefferson Parish jail on charges of obstruction of justice. His bond is set at $20,000.
Meanwhile, over in Jefferson, responding deputies found a bloody knife on the floor of home off Sizeler Avenue later the same evening.
According to the Times-Picayune/New Orleans Advocate, 31-year-old Rashad Breaux was arguing with his stepfather over taking out the trash.
He grabbed a knife and the two went at it, wrestling for the blade.
As the two fell to the ground, still fighting for the knife, the stepfather suffered gashes to his hand and face.
Breaux was also injured seriously enough to be transported to University Medical Center.
After being patched up, he was placed under arrest and booked with aggravated battery.
He’s being held on $35,000 bond.
