Just after three this morning Kenner Police responded to a 911 call of a person shot in the parking lot next to the Marzaj Café nightclub on Georgia Avenue near the intersection with 33rd Street.
Officers arrived on scene and found the victim, a 27 year-old-male from Laplace, shot in the head.
The victim was transported to an area hospital and is listed in critical condition and on life support.
It was later determined that the victim got into an argument with the suspect and the wife of the suspect, in the parking lot.
The victim threatened the suspect “that I have something for you” walked away and entered his vehicle.
The suspect walked away and entered his vehicle only to realize that his wife was now engaged in a verbal argument with a group of individuals and the shooting victim, who had now returned from his vehicle.
The suspect now felt his wife’s life may be in danger, armed himself and approached the group.
The victim pointed a gun at the suspect at which time the suspect drew his weapon and fired, shooting the victim.
The suspect’s wife immediately called 911 to report the shooting and remained on scene with her husband.
Both husband and wife fully cooperated with the investigation.
