The New Orleans Police Department is investigating an early morning shooting that wounded a woman Saturday in the Gert Town neighborhood.
NOPD says initial reports were of a woman shot at least one time to her body.
It happened shortly before 5 a.m. in the 8000 block of Edinburgh St.
That is about a block of S. Carrollton Ave. in the Xavier University area.
