Early voting is getting started for the March 23 election that includes the presidential primaries, and while it's a foregone conclusion that we'll have a Joe Biden/Donald Trump rematch in November, there are other races within the major political parties on the ballot.

"Each party has a state central committee, that's their governing body, and there are members of that committee that are voted on by the members of those individual parties," said Deputy Louisiana Secretary of State Joel Watson.
And even if you're not a party muckety-muck, Watson says there are local races around the state -- like the St. Tammany/Washington Parish District Attorney's race, for example, on the ballot.
"So across the state, there may be local races that are going on, and we encourage voters to visit geauxvote.com or visit the GeauxVote mobile app to find out what's on their ballot," said Watson.
Early voting begins Saturday, is closed this Sunday, then runs all next week through next Saturday, March 16.
