New Orleans Police are looking for a carjacker they say attacked an 85-year-old man Saturday afternoon.
It happened around 3:45pm in the 4800 block of Werner Drive in New Orleans East.
"As the victim began to leave the location the suspect approached him, pushed him to the ground, and jumped into the victim's black Nissan Versa," an initial police report indicated. "The subject then fled the location."
It comes amid a huge spike in carjackings in New Orleans.
The City Council Crime Dashboard shows a huge increase in carjackings.
Year to day there has been a 108% jump, with more than 150 in less than the first half of the year.
