A fire killed one woman and injured five other people this morning on the Westbank of Jefferson Parish.
A relative on the scene told WWL TV that the woman who died in the house was elderly.
"She was, might be in her 90s... for her to go this way, it hurt me in my heart," the victim's cousin said.
The blaze burned through a home near Avondale Garden Road and 3rd Street.
The injured victims were reportedly children and adults. There is no word on their conditions.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
