Three dogs fatally mauled an 81-year-old woman last week in New Orleans East, our partners at NOLA.com report.
It happened on March 20 in the 10200 block of Brookfield Drive.
The dogs reportedly broke through a fenced yard and attacked the victim.
One dog has been euthanized at the owner's request, and the other two are under a mandatory 10-day bite quarantine.
LASPCA confirms animal control has been dispatched to the same address in 2018 to investigate reports of large dogs roaming loose, but say the dogs in that case are not the dogs involved in the deadly attack.
The owner has been cited on two counts of failure to maintain dangerous dogs and two counts of failure to properly confine dogs.
