A local animation studio has landed a huge contract with DC Studios.
"Jefferson Parish-based animation company Swaybox Studios, which created a famous ad for the 2022 Super Bowl, has landed a full-length motion picture deal with DC Studios and Warner Brothers to create Dynamic Duo, a coming-of-age story about Batman's iconic sidekick, Robin," GNO, Inc. President & CEO Michael Hecht said in an email.
He says the deal will bring a new animation concept to the movie industry.
"What sets Swaybox apart from traditional animation houses is their revolutionary 'Momo animation' technique, a unique blend of live puppetry, stop-motion, and CGI effects that has never before been seen in a full-length feature film."
Hecht says Swaybox has evolved from an experimental puppetry troupe to a cutting edge animation powerhouse.
"With Dynamic Duo, Swaybox will employ 240 people during the three-year production. The style of Dynamic Duo, says Andersson, may revolutionize future animation."
