Utility companies Entergy and Cleco are on standby, ready to move in and restore power should an outage occur due to the frigid cold weather moving across Louisiana.
The winter storm is expected to bring icy conditions to roads, trees, pipes, and powerlines.
Currently, there are more than 54,000 Entergy customers without power across the state. Cleco has more than 9,900 total customers currently without power.
