Entergy rolling blackouts cut power to the Sewerage and Water Board's pumps that provide fresh drinking water to the City.
The blackout was alleviated when SWB backup generators kicked in to keep the water flowing.
WWL-TV reports SWB Chief Ghassan Korban had to contact the utility to remind them how critical those pumps are to the city.
No doubt the power cuts will be center stage next week when a City Council's Committee will meet to address the impact of this week’s severe winter weather event and the actions taken by the utility.
