The Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff's Office has ordered an evacuation within a mile radius of the intersection of U.S. 51 and Highway 10 in Roseland, following an explosion.
Authorities say a business exploded at that location. Locals report the business was Smitty's Supply, Inc., a manufacturer of various petroleum products.
"Please take alternative routes until this scene is clear," the sheriff's office advised. "Updates will be provided as they become available."
The sheriff's office said no injuries have been reported.
