People hoping to celebrate Easter Sunday at the Lakefront should prepare for some traffic restrictions.
In an effort to maximize full access to the Lakefront while keeping safety top of mind, the Orleans Levee District Police Department will have special traffic flow patterns in effect on Lakeshore Drive on Sunday, April 4th, beginning around 5:00 AM.
Traffic flow management will include:
• Lakeshore Drive can be accessed from West End Blvd., Marconi Drive, Beauregard Drive, St. Bernard Ave., Paris Ave., Elysian Fields Blvd., and Franklin Ave.
• Canal Blvd. will be open for southbound traffic between Lakeshore Drive and Canal Blvd.
• Vehicles traveling north on Beauregard Dr. and Marconi Dr. may turn and travel east on Lakeshore Dr.
• Westbound traffic at Paris Ave. can divert to Robert E. Lee Blvd. and then reaccess Lakeshore Drive at Marconi Dr. or West End Blvd.
• Picnic areas on Lakeshore Drive between London Ave. Canal and Elysian Fields Blvd. can be accessed from Paris Ave. or Elysian Fields Blvd.
• Lakeshore Dr. from Franklin Ave. to the Seabrook Boat can be accessed at Franklin Ave.
