A man was shot dead this morning in the 2200 block of Cobblestone Lane. Police received a call about the shooting at 6:48 AM.
According to investigators, officers responded to a call of a shooting and upon their arrival, the officers located the victim inside of an apartment who was suffering from an apparent gunshot wound to his body. Emergency Medical Technicians were called to the scene where they pronounced the victim deceased.
In a separate incident on the East Bank in Mid City just an hour later a man was fatally shot in the 400 block of South Broad. That's across the street from Criminal District Court. Police responded to the report at 7:55 AM according to NOPD, but the man died at the scene.
The Orleans Parish Coroner’s Office will identify the victim and official cause of death once an autopsy and notification of family is completed.
