The father who shot and killed his three-year-old son in Kenner this week has died.
Relatives of 39-year-old Melvin McClinton Sr. say he had reached his limit after a fight with his girlfriend, the mother of his boy. Kenner Police say McClinton shot and killed the child before turning the gun on himself Wednesday.
Police found McClinton in the driveway of the home in the 800 block of 27th Street with a gunshot wound to his head.
Earlier in February, McClinton's older son, 18-year-old Melvin McClinton Jr., had been murdered in a shooting on 42nd Street in Kenner.
Family member say McClinton Sr. had been distraught and struggling to cope with his older son's murder.
