You can celebrate the 4th of July in the New Orleans area twice if you want to, with fireworks displays tonight in Metairie and tomorrow in New Orleans.

"It's going to be really gorgeous, just absolutely beautiful," said Go 4th on the River's Debbie Bresler about tomorrow's event on the New Orleans riverfront.

Bresler says they want to make America's 250th birthday something special, so they're not holding back with their fireworks show.

"We're really excited about this year. 250th. That's huge," said Bresler.

Tonight, you can have a blast in Lafreniere Park.

"This is our 31st year. It's Uncle Sam Jam July 3rd at 3 p.m.," said Jefferson Parish President Cynthia Lee Sheng.

Entertainment for the Uncle Sam Jam includes performances by Wilson Phillips and John Waite.

It climaxes with a fireworks show at 9 p.m.
