Four Orleans Parish Jail inmates are out of a hospital after a weekend stabbing at the facility.
According to a statement released by the Orleans Parish Sheriff's Office, that stabbing happened inside housing unit 1A on Sunday around 7:45 p.m. A total of five inmates were injured, but only four of them were taken to hospitals for evaluation and treatment. Officials say the fifth inmate was treated in-house by the OPSO's medical staff.
The four hospitalized inmates were later sent back to the jail.
Depuites say they conducted a "full shakedown" of the jail to find and remove any contraband. However, officials did not say what, if any, contraband they found and if anyone has been booked on charges related to the stabbing.
The case remains under investigation.
