Tuesday night, May 4, 2021, around 8:40 p.m., Seventh District officers received a call regarding a single vehicle accident in the area.
Traffic detectives were able to determine that an adult male was driving northbound in the left lane on Downman Road, in a blue 2002 Ford Explorer.
For reasons unknown the driver lost control of the vehicle.
It vehicle veered into the right lane, hit the curb, then went off the roadway and struck two parked vehicles and the front of a house.
The vehicle flipped on its side before coming to rest on the front lawn.
The driver died on the scene.
There was one adult male passenger in the vehicle, who was transported to a local hospital by NOEMS. He is listed in stable condition.
