If you are downtown today, you can get a free lunch from what organizers call the world's largest bowl of pasta.
"We will hold our Annual St. Joseph’s Pasta Party at 12:00 noon at the Hilton Riverside Hotel," officials posted. "Parade Marshal David Greco, owner of Mikes Deli and Arthur Avenue Caterers, located in the real little Italy in the Bronx; Known to the Food Network as the Italian Food Expert, will treat us to the world’s largest bowl of pasta con le sarde."

Organizers promise plenty of food, music, wine and dancing.
"It’s a great way to start your weekend celebration!"
On Saturday the group parades to honor St. Jospeh.
"The St. Joseph's Society celebrates St. Joseph with a parade through the French Quarter. The parade kicks off at 6 p.m. at the intersection of Convention Center Blvd. and Girod Street. It includes 16 floats, nine marching bands and a whole lot of guys dressed in tuxedos."
Sunday in Metairie is the parade to honor St. Joseph and St. Patrick.
"The Louisiana Irish-Italian Parade will roll at 12:00 noon, on the traditional Veterans Highway route in Metairie," Jefferson Parish posted.
Riders in that parade throw tons of food including pasta, cabbage, potatoes, carrots, Lucky Charms and much more.
