The funeral services are now arranged for Slidell Police Sergeant Theresa Simon.
The police department said Simon had died of an apparent heart attack. She was 46-years-old and leaves behind two young children.

Simon will be buried with full honors according to the department. Funeral services will be held at the Slidell Municipal Auditorium, 2056 2nd Street in Slidell on Thursday, June 17, at 12:00 noon.
Visitation at the Slidell Municipal Auditorium will begin at 9:00 a.m., until the time of the funeral.
A police procession will follow the funeral services. Simon will be buried at the Forest Lawn Cemetery, 1751 Gause Boulevard West after the police procession.
The route of the funeral procession is still being finalized and will be released sometime later this week.
