WWL Listeners to the Early Edition of WWL First News have shared more than 100 movies they feel are the funniest ever.
The American Film Institute recently announced it was editing its list of the funniest movies.
"In honor of Mel Brooks’ 100th birthday, the American Film Institute (AFI) hereby proclaims BLAZING SADDLES (1974) the funniest film of all time," the institute posted.
AFI moved Blazing Saddles up from #6; jumping over the previous #1 Some Like it Hot, #2 Tootsie, #3 Dr. Strangelove, #4 Annie Hall, and #5 Duck Soup.
So, I thought it would be interesting to see what listeners between 5:00am and 6:00am think is the funniest movie.
Our list was very different than AFI's.
The list is below in no particular order (mostly the order the text messages came in). There were some repeats, but no clear winner.
There were close to 140 different movies texted in.
