One day after a 13-year-old boy drowned at a Grand Isle beach, a 10-year-old girl was rescued after she went under water near about two miles from where the teen died.
According to published reports, the incident happened before noon Sunday, just a short while before the body of the victim in Saturday’s incident washed ashore nearby. Authorities say another girl saw the 10-year-old struggling and helped pull her to shore.
First responders gave the girl CPR before airlifting her to a hospital. Officials did not provide the girl’s condition.
