A St. James Parish grand jury has formallly charged a Vacherie man with first-degree murder and attempted first-degree murder in connection with a deadly 2024 shooting in Lutcher.
According to Sheriff Claude Louis, Jr., the grand jury indicted Kendall Armant in connection with the shooting that left Makhai Martin, 19, dead and another 19-year-old wounded. Armant, 28, remains in the St. James Parish Jail without bond.
If convicted, Armant faces the death penalty.
