A 'superfog' blanketed a part of Louisiana, causing a pile-up of more than 150 vehicles. And there's also this: A man hit a deer on his way to work and posted the grisly video of the crash.
You can see it here, but note that it could be disturbing.
The vehicle sustained severe damage, but somehow the driver emerged unscathed.
Geico.com reminds people that this is deer mating season and that can be a dangerous time for drivers. According to the Insurance Information Institute, 1.6 million deer-vehicle collisions occur each year, resulting in 200 fatalities, tens of thousands of injuries and over $3.6 billion in vehicle damage.
"Being prepared can help prevent you from adding to these statistics," Geico noted.
If you do encounter a deer on the roadway, follow this advice from Geico: slow down because they travel in packs. One deer means more are following behind. Be especially careful at dawn and dusk, when deer are most active, and use your headlights. Deer eyes reflect brightly in them, making them easier to spot.
