First Jazz Fest organizers cancel their much-anticipated return, now another very popular music festival bites the dust in 2021, Gretna Fest.

Organizers for The Gretna Heritage Festival announced Monday that they are canceling the three-day music and food festival in historic Gretna.

“2021 was the year the festival was returning to its “roots” and we look forward to carrying that theme forwards and presenting the festival again in 2022 on October 7, 8, and 9,” organizers said in a statement.

The festival was scheduled for October 22 – 24 in historic downtown Gretna.

Gretna Fest is the latest festival to cancel amid fears hospitals are overwhelmed with COVID patients infected amid a fourth surge.

The festival follows Jazz Fest which canceled its festival after announcing last week The Rolling Stones would headline.
