New Orleans is expecting a lot of Halloween weekend visitors.
"New Orleans is one of the top Halloween destinations in the country," and why wouldn’t it be, says Kelly Schulz with New Orleans and Company.
"Visitors love to come and experience our haunted history and above ground cemetery, voodoo, vampires, and much more," she said.
Last year, with Halloween on a Friday, the Saturday after had about 80 percent of the city's hotel rooms filled.
This year, with Halloween on a Saturday, that number has moved up to 88 percent of rooms booked.
"It really does, if you think about it, it becomes an entire weekend of celebration,” said Schulz.
Restaurants, bars, and retailers are also expecting even more spending with the holiday on a Saturday.
The last time Halloween fell on a Saturday was October 31, 2020.
