The bad news: nobody won the $1.35 billion Mega Millions jackpot Friday night.
The good news: someone in Louisiana won the $1 million second prize.
According to the Louisiana Lottery, a ticket matching the five white balls but not the yellow Megaball was purchased from a convenience store in Hammond. The Lottery's website identifies that store as the Quick Way #5 on West University Avenue at North Morrison Road. Once the winning ticket is redeemed, the store will receive a bonus payment from the Louisiana Lottery for selling the big winner.
The Hammond ticket is one of nine in the United States to match the five white balls. Two of those tickets, sold in Michigan and Tennessee, won $2 million because their buyers purchased the Megaplier option.
Because nobody won the big one Friday, the Mega Millions jackpot now stands at $1.55 billion with an estimated cash value of $757.2 million. The jackpot could rise again before Tuesday night's drawing.
