A couple of Tangipahoa Parish schools briefly went into lockdown this afternoon after a report of an armed man in their parking lot.
According to the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff's Office, two witnesses, including a faculty member at Hammond Eastside Magnet School, reported seeing the man. The sheriff's office dispatched several deputies to the campus. Fire department and Acadian Ambulance also responded as a precaution.
A short time later, the school began dismissal.
