Caesar's Entertainment, the parent company of Harrah's New Orleans Casino, is going to spend $325 million to upgrade the downtown gambling property, and re-brand it as "Caesar's New Orleans."

The renovations include a new 340-room hotel and expanded amenities, The Times-Picayune | New Orleans Advocate reports.

The expansion will create about 600 jobs during the construction phase, and Caesar's has committed to adding 500 new permanent jobs as part of a 30-year license extension with the state of Louisiana.
