One person is dead and a suspect is in custody after a shooting at a Harvey business.
It happened around 5:40 a.m. Sunday on Woodmere Boulevard near Lapalco Boulevard.
According to sheriff’s deputies, the first deputy who arrived on scene encountered the suspect and shot at him. The deputy missed. A chase ensued, during which the deputy caught the suspect and arrested.
Deputies who arrived later found the victim dead inside the business. Investigators say the victim, identified only as a man, had been shot to death.
Authorities have not yet identified the suspect.
The case remains under investigation.
