As Louisiana sees more children in the hospital from COVID, Chief Quality Officer for Children's Hospital, Leron Finger, says the FDA is working hard to release a safe vaccine for children under 12-year-old.

“We anticipate that kids age five to eleven will get the vaccine probably between mid-October and the end of the calendar year,” said Finger.

For adults who received both doses of the Moderna or Pfizer COVID vaccine, Finger says be prepared to take a third dose.

“It looks like it is going to become universal after September 20th for folks to get it eight months after their second dose of one of those vaccines,” said Finger.
