The New Orleans Saints got the pads on this week at training camp, and at Wednesday's practice there were some lanes to run through.
That's what the Cajun Cannon Bobby Hebert had to say in his post-practice breakdown on WWL Radio, alongside Mike Detillier and Deuce McAllister.
“The O-line, blocking was like night and day compared to yesterday,” Hebert said.

Etienne handled the bulk of the early down run plays with the first team, while Kamara looked to be in on most third and passing down work. Neal was the lead back with the second team and was able to pick and find some lanes.
It was a departure from the first week of practice that featured a stout defense with little room to run.
“It’ll be interesting to see what are you gonna do [Thursday]," Hebert continued, "because I know in the defensive line and defensive meeting rooms, you know how you challenge one another and looking at the film and who’s winning and who’s losing. ... You never want to see the running backs 3 or 4 yards through the home and then we touch them, that's not good.”
The Saints are back in pads on Thursday before a day off on Friday, but the work Hebert says he's most eager for is the joint practice against the Jaguars scheduled for Aug. 13. That's a Jaguars defense that was ranked No. 1 in the NFL against the run a year ago and will be a "measuring stick" opportunity for this Saints offense, particularly on the ground.
"Wouldn’t you say if all of a sudden we’re blocking them, I don’t know, that’s as good as it gets," Hebert said. "Now, if we’re not doing anything, well, they stop a lot of people, but that’s going to give you confidence as a unit, as a whole offensive line, if you’re able to block up front.”
