Drivers on Loyola Ave. in Kenner near the I-10 interchange need to be aware of work going on there this weekend.
The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development is setting up new signals and lanes to turn Loyola Ave. under the I-10 overpass into a diverging diamond interchange.
DoTD says this will help smooth traffic flow in the area by eliminating the need for left-turn signals at the on-ramps to I-10.

The work is part of the improvements made at the I-10/Loyola interchange to accommodate traffic headed to Armstrong New Orleans International Airport.
Work to complete the look of the interchange will continue into next year, but DoTD says that work should not impact traffic.
At the end of September and in mid-October, DoTD opened new flyover lanes for I-10 traffic to and from the airport in the direction of downtown New Orleans.
