The New Orleans Police Department is investigating a homicide reported shortly before noon on Tuesday.
"At about 11:56 a.m., NOPD Fifth District officers responded to a call of possible burned human remains at the intersection of Almonaster and Florida Avenue," aid police. "Upon arrival, officers discovered the charred remains of an unidentified adult male victim."
The Orleans Parish Coroner's Office will examine the remains to determine cause of death and the victim's identity.

Callers to Crimestoppers do not have to leave their names and may be eligible for a cash reward for information that leads to an arrest and indictment.
