
Strong winds from Hurricane Ida have ripped the roof off of the Lady of the Sea Hospital in Galliano, Louisiana. Video shot by residents watching the destruction, shows the building starting to fall apart as winds continue to hit it.
Video shows the roof being ripped off by the wind and almost immediately turned into dust as it is blown away in the winds that have reached more than 60 miles per hour in some areas.
At 3 p.m., the eyewall was over Golden Meadon and Galliano, with a strong rain band moving over the Northshore. In New Orleans, wind gusts are reaching up to 60 miles per hour.
The storm is continuing to move as winds are now 140 mph, and the storm continues to move around 11 mph, WDSU reported.
