Houma man arrested in online child sex sting

A Houma man is in jail after authorities say he planned a sexual rendezvous with a minor he met online.

Louisiana State Police arrested Jacob Parfait after a conducting a joint investigation with the Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office and the Federal Bureau of Investigation. According to state troopers, Parfait, 42, made plans to travel from his Houma home to Grand Isle, where the rendezvous was supposed to take place.

Troopers and Terrebonne Parish sheriff’s deputies arrested Parfait at his home over the weekend. He’s now facing computer-aided solicitation, indecent behavior, and attempted carnal knowledge of a juvenile charges.

The case remains under investigation.
