A fisherman has made a grim discovery on the Northshore. The St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office is investigating what appear to be human skeletal remains found near Slidell by a local fisherman. Deputies were dispatched around 4 pm Monday afternoon to a retention pond near Indiana Avenue and Highway 11.
The St. Tammany Parish Coroner’s Office was quickly notified and will be working with the LSU Forensic Anthropology and Computer Enhancement Services (FACES) Laboratory to gain a positive identification of the deceased individual.
Foul play is not suspected at this time, but the investigation is still ongoing. Anyone with possible information regarding the case is urged to contact the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office.
