State Farm, which is the state’s largest insurance company, has gotten more than 28,000 Ida-related claims so far, according to The Advocate.
That’s reportedly already thousands more than 2020’s Hurricane Laura.
The insurance company is using not only in-person adjusters, but also drones to check for storm damage, The Advocate reported.
The damage caused by the storm is estimated to cost up to $40 billion across the Gulf Coast, according to CoreLogic.
Disaster Unemployment Assistance was just granted to 25 parishes for those whose jobs have been lost or temporarily stopped due to Ida’s impact.
