Though most of Hurricane Zeta was already on its way East in the 9 o’clock hour, this didn’t stop the epidemic of gun violence from striking.
Second District officers responded to a call of shots fired in the area of Eden and DuPre Streets off Washington Avenue.
Upon arrival, they discovered the body of an adult male down with numerous gunshot wounds.
The victim was declared dead at the scene.
As much of the city was sequestered in their homes without power, police investigators were out in the winds and rain gathering evidence and information to identify the those responsible and learn their motive.
No additional details are available at this time.
The Orleans Parish Coroner’s Office will identify the victim and official cause of death upon completion of autopsy and notification of family.
