An inmate at the Orleans Parish Prison is in a hospital after authorities say he was stabbed during a fight with another inmate.
According to the NOPD's major offense log, that stabbing happened around 11:30 a.m. Tuesday.
The MOL says a closed circuit television recording shows the victim and the suspect fighting inside the jail. During that fight, the suspect pulled a weapon and stabbed the victim in the back and neck several times. Authorities did not say what type of weapon the suspect used to stab the victim.
Authorities did not disclose the names of the parties involved or the victim's condition. Officials also did not say if the suspect has been rebooked on new charges.
