The second weekend of the 2023 New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival continues today at the Fairgrounds. If you're planning on going, expect rain, heat, and humidity.
Organizers say "handheld, personal-sized umbrellas" are allowed at the Fairgrounds. They prohibit "beach or pole-style umbrellas (over 63 inches)" and do not allow "personal tents, shade canopies, or other shelters/shacks, sport-brellas, etc."
Headliners today include Jon Batiste, Irma Thomas, Amanda Shaw, Ludacris, and Kane Brown.
There are a number of new food vendors this year with jerk chicken sausage, shrimp and grits, grilled shrimp, and barbecued oysters new to the offerings.
For the first time, the fest is cashless, but if you want to leave your credit or debit card home, fest producer Quint Davis says they can accommodate.
