Today, the Jefferson Parish Council will vote on a redesigned parish logo and flag.
The rebranding project was a joint effort with the Jefferson Chamber of Commerce and its Young Professionals Committee. Parish councilmembers will vote to approve or not the redesigned logo which features a brown pelican perched near the river and the Huey P. Long Bridge behind it.

“We wanted to create something modern that celebrates all that Jefferson Parish has to offer and the future generation of our Parish will be proud to display,” said Councilman At-Large Ricky Templet.

The design was adopted in 1996 and has not been updated since that time. The new proposed emblem is a “JP” mark in blue instead of the current green and gold colors.
