The Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office is investigating a homicide that happened Wednesday night in unincorporated Gretna.
“At around 9:30 pm, deputies were dispatched to a report of a shooting in the 2900 block of Penwood Drive. Upon their arrival they located male victim outside a residence suffering from at least one gunshot wound. The victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment, but later succumbed to his injuries,” says JPSO spokesperson Captain Jason Rivarde.
Investigators says there is no suspect or motive information available at this time. The victim’s identity is being withheld pending the notification of next of kin.
