The Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office is looking for a killer after a homicide in Marrero.
"At around 11:30 pm, deputies were dispatched to a report of a shooting in the 1800 block of Westminster Blvd.," Captain Jason Rivarde said in an email.
He says responding cops got there to find "a male victim inside of a residence suffering from multiple gunshot wounds."
Rivarde says it looked like someone shot the victim outside, then dragged him into the house.
"He was transported to a local hospital, but succumbed to his injuries."
Police say there is no suspect or motive information available at this time.
Murder is up nearly 20 percent this year in Jefferson Parish, with an average of about four homicides per month. The latest stats show increases in robbery, assault, burglary, general theft and auto theft this year in Jefferson Parish.
