A Texas man is facing attempted first-degree murder charges after he allegedly walked up to three people outside a Harvey restaurant and tried to shoot them.
According to a Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office spokesperson, the incident happened Sunday afternoon. Our partners at NOLA.com say the attempted shooting took place at a business on Manhattan Boulevard near Ute Drive.
Deputies say Ronald Barrios approached an elderly couple and their son-in-law who were leaving the restaurant after finishing lunch. According to investigators, Barrios then approached the three of them, pointed a gun at one of the family members, and pulled the trigger, but the gun jammed. Deputies say Barrios tried to fire the gun several more times at the victims before he pistol whipped the son-in-law. Deputies say Barrios then got into a car and drove away.
Deputies arrested Barrios on Thursday in Elmwood. He remains in jail on $760,000 bond.
