A journalist from Kansas City has died while in the New Orleans area to cover the Super Bowl.
According to a press release issued by officials at Telemundo Kansas City, Adan Manzano, 27, died on Wednesday. Authorities are investigating the cause and manner of death. Officials with Telemundo Kansas City say they are working with investigators.
So far, there is no indication that Manzano's death is suspicious. In addition, officials have not said exactly where in the New Orleans metro Manzano died.
"As KGKC's Sports Anchor & Reporter, Adan was a true professional and a rising star, who exemplified excellence in his work," the Telemundo Kansas City statement read. "We will deeply miss Adan and his passion for sports, and the contributions he made to the local community. Our thoughts and heartfelt condolences go out to his family and loved ones during this difficult time."
