Kenner police chased a suspect through many neighborhoods early this morning.
The 19 year old suspect crashed his car into a canal in the 4100 block of Ole Miss Drive.
Jaden Boyer of New Orleans faces numerous charges including vehicle theft. The car was reported stolen to police and, after spotting the car, the chase ensued.
"The suspect vehicle crashed into a canal in the 4100 block of Ole Miss Drive. The driver was identified as nineteen-year-old, Jaden Boyer, New Orleans. A seventeen-year-old female passenger identified herself as the girlfriend of Boyer and at this time she has not been charged," Captain Michael Cunningham said. "The vehicle driven by Boyer was reported as stolen out of New Orleans. A handgun and narcotics were found inside the vehicle. Stolen property from burglarized vehicles that had not yet been reported and determined to have occurred prior to the pursuit, was also recovered."
Boyer is charged with possession of a stolen vehicle, simple burglary (three counts), handgun in the presence of a controlled dangerous and possession of marijuana.
