Kenner Police say New Orleans Saints wider receiver Chris Olave could have easily killed himself or someone else when officers clocked him at 70 mph on Joe Yenni Blvd. The speed limit is 35.
"If he would have clipped another one of those cars, he could have killed someone in the other car, he could have killed himself," Kenner Police spokesman Capt. Michael Cunningham told WWL-TV. "He could have had an injury that could be career-ending for him."
Police say they cited Olave in August for dirving 54 in a 35 mph zone on Vintage Drive.
Kenner has investigated five traffic fatalities so far this year.
"We want to lower the number of our fatalities," said Cunningham. "We want to lower the number of accidents in Kenner. So, we’re going to be proactively out there enforcing these speed laws."
