LA alligator makes saltwater journey to Texas beach

Authorities in Texas got an unusual visitor when an alligator from Louisiana was found yesterday at Malaquite Beach in the Padre Island National Seashore Park.

Malaquite Beach is south of Corpus Christi. Park officials say the alligator had a tag on its rear feet and a notch on its tail identifying it as an American alligator from Louisiana.

“After consulting with our partners at the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department, the animal was transported to a rehabilitation facility to recover from its long journey. See ya later, alligator,” officials said in a Facebook post.
