A neighborhood pond is the breeding ground for mystery after it was found full of dead fish.
The question now is what killed them.
Some have theorized that perhaps the pond became contaminated by a nearby waste treatment plant. The water is currently being tested.
Another possibility would be that the water contains less oxygen than it should.
For now though, the biggest problem for nearby neighbors is the smell of the dead fish rotting in the Louisiana summer heat.
Because the pond is private property, its owner is responsible for hiring someone to remove the fish carcasses, according to a WAFB report which also includes a picture of the pond.
