Lafourche Parish sheriff's deputies say they have rescued 26 people from flood waters in the aftermath of Hurricane Francine.
Sheriff Craig Webre says his office got a call around 7:30 p.m. Wednesday from Lasseign Road in Thibodaux about multiple families trapped by rising rain water. Deputies went to those housing units and took the people to a shelter.
Webre says his office made additional high water rescues in other parts of Thibodaux and in the Kraemer community.
A parishwide curfew is in effect until 10 a.m. Thursday.
